Welcome to North Shore
Staten Island is the third largest yet least populated of the five boroughs, making it a wonderful place to settle down. Staten Islanders enjoy low crime rates, more space, and beautiful parks in the greenest borough. Homes here offer more bang for your buck and as you’ll find out in our neighborhood guide, the island is diverse and offers something for everyone.
Staten Island’s North Shore refers to neighborhoods above I-278. This section is closest to Manhattan, or “the city” as we call it. The North Shore is more urbanized and densely populated. Here you will also find some of the island’s oldest character homes, from classic colonials to Victorian mansions predating 1900.
