Westfield in June: The Complete 2026 Events Calendar
Five days that shape the month — from the art show on Dorian Road to the festival street pulse of Quimby — with the closures, contacts, and historical context you need to plan your way through.
Westfield was settled as the "West Fields" of Elizabethtown in 1699, and three and a quarter centuries later the geography of community life still runs along the same axis — the train station, the downtown grid, the schools, the parks. June is when that geography fills up. The five events below all fall inside a ten-day window, and four of the five sit within walking distance of one another. If you live here, plan around them. If you're considering Westfield, this is the month to come spend a Saturday.
District Art Show
A district-wide showcase of student artwork inside the Westfield High School gym on Dorian Road.
No formal street closures. Expect heavier localized traffic and limited street parking on Dorian Road and Rahway Avenue near the high school gym between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM.
Westfield Public Schools — Visual Arts Department
908-789-4400
Westfield High School was originally established in the early 1900s on Elm Street. As the town's population grew, the district adopted the 6-3-3 educational plan in 1923, and the high school eventually relocated to its current sprawling campus on Dorian Road in 1951.
Big Run Fun Run 5K
A community 5K celebrating Global Running Day, kicking off at 123 Quimby Street and finishing with an ice cream after-party.
Minimal hard closures. Expect brief, rolling traffic holds managed by local police at intersections along the 5K route. Originating at 123 Quimby Street, expect rolling delays on surrounding residential streets from 6:15 PM to 7:30 PM.
Fleet Feet was founded in 1976 by two female educators and collegiate athletes, Sally Edwards and Elizabeth Jansen, who opened the first store in a Sacramento Victorian house with roughly $2,000 and a shoe box for a register. Today the franchise spans more than 250 locations, and the Westfield branch on Quimby serves as a central hub for the local running community.
Westfield Street Fair & Craft Show
A massive downtown gathering featuring live music, food vendors, children's rides, and over 100 artisans — the headline June event.
Major downtown footprint. South Avenue and sections of the Boulevard near the Train Station will be fully closed to vehicles from 6:00 AM to approximately 6:30 PM. Plan to park well outside the core and walk in.

Downtown Westfield's street fairs originated 25 years ago in 1998, pioneered by local residents and business owners to drive foot traffic. The location itself is historic — Westfield was originally settled in 1699 as the "West Fields" of Elizabethtown, and the arrival of the Central Railroad station in the 1870s permanently shifted the center of town commerce to this very footprint.
Pride Month Celebration
A flag-raising ceremony at Town Hall followed by a community walk to the downtown rainbow crosswalks.
Temporary, rolling 15- to 30-minute closures on Broad Street and Elm Street starting around 5:30 PM as the procession moves from Town Hall toward the rainbow crosswalks.
The event kicks off at Town Hall, which sits on land steeped in early colonial history. It was part of the original Baker tract — purchased from the Lenni-Lenape in 1664 — and was once the site of an 18th-century tannery and the home of John Baker, one of Westfield's first colonists.
Match Night on Quimby
An evening outdoor gathering on Quimby Street — the first true test of the newly redesigned festival corridor.
Quimby Street will be completely closed to vehicular traffic between Central Avenue and Elm Street. The street typically closes by 3:00 PM on Friday for setup and remains a pedestrian-only zone through the weekend.
Downtown Westfield Corporation

The DWC was established in 1993 as "Main Street Westfield" and won the Great American Main Street Award in 2004 for its preservation and economic vitality efforts. Quimby Street itself recently underwent a major redesign: in late 2025, the town approved a contract to transform it into a permanent, one-way "flexible festival street." Utilizing electronic bollards, bistro lighting, and unified paving, it was designed specifically to accommodate seamless transitions between parking and pedestrian-only events like this one.
